ok, you never stop learning. When I started 40k I quickly switched to Marines. Because: No eyes! Then I switched to Orks. Just some red and boom, Eyes. Currently I paint Imperial Guard. Lots of Eyes. So number 2 it is for now. Usually my eyes look just as you said. I used a white spot and add some black. But that dot-thing seems just great.

Man, even with a sharp tipped Rosemary and Co or Monument hobbies pro sable, the eyes on a mini will always be an annoying 15-30 minute endeavor for me lol. But once I got it, I feel like I need a beer. Great job btw, and look forward to your vids with the new fanatics range!

Try using the Dark Red Tone over a red coat and the Dark Blue over a blue coat. Also, the Dark Red Tone works well on the top of anything you'd normally strong tone while the dark blue(or purple) works well in the shadows as an alternative to strong tone.

Sounds like you’re complaining the dark red is… dark red.

Actually for me personally like the fact there is less of a color change on the raised areas , and it gets more in the creases, especially if your not looking to change the color tone of your paint job, so it actually looks like both the old an new have uses, but unfortunately here in the future it will be hard to get the old line as they are discontinuing it. great video, and thank you very much for making it. I was not sure if i wanted to get new washes as i still have most my bottles full, this really helped in what new ones i will pick up though

Thank you, i learned alot of contrast and speed painting on my own. By measing with them and trying new things. I am trying to teach a friend of mine who is very unfamiliar with these acrylic inks, and it was hard to tell him what he needs to know, why also clearly and understandable. I use speedpaints alot for glazing and saving time and paint on base coats, as ill be covering them up either way

Do you thin the speed paints further with thinner or water? How would it work with GW contrast paints while dry, thinned, and/or watered down?

I’ve used the original Red Tone to shade coppery colours. Adds a smidge of depth, but a lot of warmth.

Shame about the mid brown. I wanted to get it for the Space Marine juice mix, but can't find it anywhere nearby now.

I dont know if I got a bad batch but my old dark tone is really glossy. Should I buy a fanatic dark tone?

Just to clarify, particularly with your like-for-like 'revamped' comparison; aside from the choice of colours available now, the 'recipe' of the washes remains completely unchanged, they have not been 'revamped' or altered. The medium is just a wash without colour, it thins the wash without altering the colour, ie. no desaturation. While it 'looks' white coming out of the dropper, it isn't.

Really awesome video. I like that you used a lot of natural materials that anyone can get outside for free rather than buying everything.
